Adventures of Now
Two complementary workshops with Dagmar Kasper (AT) and Oliver Klebert (AT) in cooperation with ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival
Adventures of Now
Exploring presence through bodywork, movement, voice and language.
Adventures of Now is a journey of discovery into the present moment. By combining mindful bodywork in the morning with performative improvisation in the afternoon, we deepen our awareness of our bodies and explore how this experience gives rise to expression, connection, and meaning. The mornings create a subtle physical foundation through touch, movement, and sensation; the afternoons open up a space in which the experience takes shape in movement, voice, and language. This creates a lively process from feeling to action, from inner experience to individual and collective expression. The week invites you to encounter yourself, each other, and the moment in a new way: awake, present, and playful.
Choose both workshops for maximum experience, or take either the The Body of Now or the The Art of the Moment to enjoy more unstructured daily time. Each workshop consists of approximately 100 minutes of activity daily. Shared Moments are for participants of both workshops and are included with the registration to any of the two workshops.
In the morning:
The Body of Now
(bodywork - led by Dagmar Kasper)
Using concepts from Body Mind Centering, Cranio Sacral Work, Nuad, and Yoga, we expand the repertoire of the body – its sensations and expressions. We explore the body, its specific moods, experiences, movement patterns, and possibilities. Through meditative journeys through the body, mutual touch, and specific movement tasks, deepened body awareness becomes possible. In this way, we can become more aware of different areas of the body and their connection to our emotional being, and we come into deeper contact with ourselves. Mindful bodywork allows us to experience new, previously unconscious qualities in ourselves beyond our habitual, entrenched concepts of self. Contact with deeper layers of our body—in stillness and in movement—enables a more present experience of ourselves and our environment.
In the afternoon:Â
The Art of the Moment
(improvising with movement, voice and language - led by Oliver Klebert)
Everything we are is (also) our body. Our beautiful and difficult experiences are stored in our bodies, but so are the things that move us every day in our relationships and in society.
We explore what affects and moves us so much that it takes hold of our bodies – and bring it into expression, into space, into contact. Intuitions, sensations, associations, and feelings manifest and transform into images, scenes, situations. And unfold in individual and collective play in front of and with benevolent fellow performers into surprising and touching performances.
Unlike conventional theater, we focus on bodily perceptions and kinesthetic sensations, from which moods, stories, and meanings arise and continually evolve. Unlike dance, movement and kinesthetics become concrete moods, situations, and stories, which in turn inspire movement and relationships to space and fellow performers. Perception and meaning, kinesthetics and history, imagination and the real here and now constantly intermingle and enrich each other.
In the workshop, we will make these processes our own in a light and playful way and reward ourselves with small, fleeting works of art. The art of the moment is a performative space for experimentation in which ephemeral, living art emerges from immediate experience; beyond right or wrong, carried by contact and the courage to trust the moment.
Shared Moments
The two workshops are synchronized, but they can also be booked individually and are a complete workshop in themselves. There will be sessions in which the connection between the two courses is particularly noticeable and tangible, and which are open to participants of both courses. In addition, there will also be opportunities for the whole group to experience nature and the historical surroundings together.
