Morning Yoga Balance & Flamenco Roots
Two complementary workshops with Claire Cunningham and Jose Agudo in cooperation with ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival

Morning Yoga Balance & Flamenco Roots
An experience of ease and strength
This open-level retreat explores how to cultivate ease, physical confidence, and a sense of joyful empowerment. The retreat is designed to help you reconnect with your body, release tension, and discover new sources of strength and expressive freedom. Whether through the mindful movement of yoga or the expressive rhythms of Flamenco, this retreat invites you to embrace new aspects of your moving self, leaving you refreshed, energized, and inspired.
Choose both workshops for maximum experience, or take either Morning Yoga Balance or Flamenco Roots to enjoy more unstructured daily time. Each workshop consists of approximately 100 minutes of activity daily. The Quiet Hour are shared moments for everyone and thus included with the registration to any of the two workshops.
Morning Yoga Balance
An experience of ease workshop with Claire Cunningham
The yoga workshop includes postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and relaxation (savasana). Claire’s warm teaching style encourages a mindful approach in order to play with and feel new connections. The flow of the class will leave you feeling both energized and relaxed for the day ahead. Claire: “I personally love the balance of strength and length that yoga provides the physical body. Also the emphasis on a breath-lead practice, which brings a sense of grounding and spaciousness. It shifts the energy and clears blockages both mentally and physically. Yoga provides a quiet space for feeling or ‘tuning in’ to what is happening on each particular day. Then we can return to our dance practice (or whatever else we do) with that new information, perhaps working with the additional layers of speed, counts, kinetics, interaction.”
Duration: Approximately 100 minutes daily
Flamenco Roots
A joyful empowerment workshop with Jose Agudo
Jose will guide you through the fundamentals of Flamenco dance such as rhythm, expressive use of the arms and footwork. His joyful energy and infectuous passion for dance fosters a deep sense of confidence and empowerment in every step.
After a dynamic warmup we dive into a captivating dance phrase, and play with the spontaneous aspects of Flamenco. There will be room to improvise with rhythm patterns and techniques, allowing for spontaneous creativity. Most importantly, we will encourage each other to have fun, embrace the music and flow with the vibrant energy and warmth of the contemporary Flamenco spirit.
Duration: Approximately 100 minutes daily
SHARED MOMENTS:
The Quiet Hour
Afternoons will focus on deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Experience the restorative power of Yoga Nidra, a guided relaxation that brings profound rest and clarity. Follow this with Qigong in nature, a gentle movement practice that calms the mind and boosts vitality, grounding you in the natural surroundings. These sessions are designed to help you recharge, find inner peace, and restore energy, leaving you refreshed for the rest of your retreat.
These shared moments are open to all, whether you're participating in both workshops or one, seeking more restful time.
Duration: Approximately 100 minutes daily
Workshops can also be booked individually
