Rückenglück & Sense Appeal
Two complementary workshops with Michaela Kratky and Melanie Maar in cooperation with ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival
Rückenglück & Sense Appeal
Empowering female sensuality
Michaela and Melanie invite you to explore self-care as an active, physically grounded practice. By refining your perception, breath, and movement, you create space for clarity, enjoyment, and inner stability as the foundation for a self-determined, present experience. In this retreat, sensuality is not an aesthetic concept, but rather the ability to perceive, modulate, and trust sensations.
This retreat is aimed at anyone who identifies as a woman, of all movement backgrounds and ages (16 and up), who would like to explore movement and sensual experience in community as a resource for care and empowerment.
Feel free to bring a friend, mother, daughter, or sister along for this transformative week surrounded by unspoiled nature and an idyllic atmosphere. Both workshops can also be booked individually (always including the “Shared Moments”).
Rückenglück
We learn movements that strengthen, mobilize, and nourish the body without pressure. Michaela combines exercises from traditional methods with the latest findings in medical training theory. In this back happiness special, we focus on specific topics such as the pelvic floor and spine in order to experience our inherent intelligent structures through gentle movement sequences.
Sense Appeal
In Sense Appeal we follow our senses and their impulses in unfolding through a guided, relaxed perception. What effect does it have on our psycho-sensual self to slow down, to do nothing for a while, to see and be seen? Through Female Sexual Energy exercises from Qi Gong and various movement scores we increasingly feel our own inner guidance, vitality, and sovereignty in relationship. Through self-responsibility and care, a safe space is created within us to enable new risks and joys in the movements of our art-life process.
Shared Moments
In Shared Moments, Michaela and Melanie open a space to draw strength from and settle into ourselves. The grounding landscape and Artis Umbria's ecosomatic health oasis help to arrive fully in the here and now. Sessions of deep relaxation and regeneration alternate with trips to waterfalls and medieval towns, where we can experience an authentic Italy away from the tourist crowds. During the 'Share a Dance' evening, we celebrate and dance together with the local women. We experience community, personal growth, and simply the joy of being.
Workshops can also be booked individually

Melanie Maar’s work explores sensual transience and personal myth through performance and facilitation. She works with groups and individuals in encouraging curiosity and transformations in our art-life processes. She was born in Vienna and has worked in New York City for nearly three decades performing, teaching and choreographing. Her training as a professional dancer, Qi Gong instructor (Universal Healing Tao), as well as her Somatic Sexology education (Body Electric School and Somatica Institute), gives Melanie a wide range of experience to draw from when guiding others in our relational, psycho-sensual experience.
